Added some posts on my 'POST' blog.
Head on over to read them! I've begun to start writing letters again. I've been wanting to test this plate out in Singapore.
It's finally here, and it is on this rare occasion of a working day that I decide to print it. However, to my dismay, I have lost the ability to pull a print. None are good out of these 10 prints. They all remain but tests. . . I'm a goner without constant practice and nobody can do anything about it. Just chanced upon this on instagram! I'm really thrilled to see this, since it was unexpected for me to be part of the crew (the last I heard was that Fin was packing the prints). Also, I wouldn't have been able to see this up close and personal.
That's us, the Studio Grafis Minggiran segment of COLLECTIVE SOCIETY, organized by BEKRAF Space, who invited 6 collectives from Jakarta, Jogja and Bandung. Thank you BEKRAF(Creative Economy Ministry of Indonesia) and Studio Grafis Minggiran! More images here. I'm quite excited because I've finally managed to figure this out.
It's been boggling me for months since my teacher Adeline taught me the round and backed case binding technique (which I have failed badly in making after leaving her studio). I had initially experimented the *quarter case binding with cloth, which did not work out. But I am really happy to see the results from this session, although maybe not technically sound, but with paper. From here on, my task is to find out how to work this technique with fabric. *A style of bookbinding in which the spine is bound in a different material than the sides, usually a more durable covering such as leather, often in a contrasting color, extending no more than one-eighth of the width of the boards. As part of the crew of Studio Grafis Minggiran, my submission for Print Parade #2, titled 'Self-Healing' is currently being exhibited in COLLECTIVE SOCIETY, presented at the BEKRAF Space. Catch the show if you are in Jakarta and take some snaps for me : ) More details below: COLLECTIVE SOCIETY curated by Dilla Ayu
