This week's Printmaking activity guide has been released on the site! I had taught Art lessons to a whole level of Secondary One students in 2006 and this activity was inspired by that! At that time, we had ordered square blocks of erasers from the Popular Book Store, so each student received one eraser each, and had to carve images inspired by culture stemming from some research made. Imagine a collection of hand carved rubber stamp and colourful prints made by the entire cohort! Initially, before the circuit breaker, I had meant this activity for students who were bored in the classrooms to doodle and carve something, which could increase their attention span as they listened to the teacher speak. Our brains can multi-task and it is scientifically proven that if you doodle while listening at class, you brain can retain more information! (I am guilty of doing this especially during maths class...)
Anyway, now that the circuit breaker is on, anyone can find an eraser lying around, and carve your initials or even small tiny patterns to pass time. The message of today is to #stayathome, and don't hesitate to try out this easy activity at home! Let's see how many erasers you can find, and how big a collection of carved rubber stamps you can amass from this period! Click here for the full guide!

It's earth day and this one's dedicated to appreciating the plants that grow around us, taking time to smell the roses and observe the wonderful patterns of shapes found in nature.
